In cooperation with Switzerland Global Enterprise, the SGDA has organized a meeting between a high ranking delegation of Chinese game publishers, distributors, and developers, and exponents of the Swiss game industry. The event took place on August 18th. The guests from China were keen on getting to know Swiss game developers to seek opportunities for cooperation, and to do networking. Swiss games are highly regarded internationally for their creativity and their innovative use of technology, and therefore interesting for potential investors. China, on the other hand, is a vast and booming multi-billion dollar market for games.
Heading the delegation, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, stressed the intention of the Chinese government to encourage and to facilitate partnerships between Chinese and European game developers and publishers. Entering the Chinese market is a fantastic option for Swiss game developers wanting to publish their games outside of Switzerland. Therefore, several SGDA members and partners took the opportunity to meet the guests representing some of the most important companies in the Chinese game industry like Baidu, China’s answer to Google, and Qihoo 360, a distributor with China’s biggest Android platform. After the company presentations the participants were invited to exchange experiences and ideas during a networking session, which was insightful and very prolific for both sides. The meeting laid the groundwork for a new era of cooperation between Chinese and Swiss game companies.
We would like to thank Swiss Global Enterprise for offering this great opportunity to meet the Chinese delegation and the outstanding organisation of the event.
Any SGDA members interested in getting in touch with representatives of the Chinese game industry can contact us, and we will be glad to forward their requests to our Chinese colleagues.
