In cooperation with Switzerland Global Enterprise<\/a>, the SGDA has organized a meeting between a high ranking delegation of Chinese game publishers, distributors, and developers, and exponents of the Swiss game industry. The event took\u00a0place on August 18th. The guests from China were keen on getting to know\u00a0Swiss game developers to seek opportunities\u00a0for cooperation, and to do networking. Swiss games are highly regarded internationally for their creativity and their innovative use of\u00a0technology, and therefore interesting for potential investors. China, on the other hand, is a vast and booming multi-billion dollar market\u00a0for games.<\/p>\n

Heading the delegation, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, stressed the intention of the Chinese government to encourage and to facilitate\u00a0partnerships between Chinese and\u00a0European game developers and publishers. Entering the Chinese market is\u00a0a fantastic option\u00a0for Swiss game developers wanting\u00a0to publish their games outside of Switzerland. Therefore, several SGDA members and partners\u00a0took the opportunity\u00a0to meet the\u00a0guests representing some of the most important companies in the Chinese game industry like Baidu, China’s answer to Google, and Qihoo 360, a distributor\u00a0with China’s biggest Android platform.\u00a0\u00a0After the company presentations the participants were invited to exchange experiences and ideas during a networking session, which was insightful and very prolific\u00a0for both sides. The meeting laid the groundwork for a new era of cooperation between Chinese and Swiss game companies.<\/p>\n
